“When it comes to garage rock that rivals the Troggs, the McCoys, the Monks and the other fallen heroes of that time, Shark? makes a pretty amazing case with a song like “I’m An Animal.””
dogandponyshow:

For the longest time, I wanted to hear a party song. A song like “Psycho” by The Sonics or “Do You Remember Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio” by the Ramones that chugs at the beginning and builds with a grizzly voice and a snarl. A song that said, “I’m ready to drink, dance, and start a fight if things get out of hand.”
Well Shark? from Brooklyn have made that song. It’s called “I’m An Animal,” and it’s exactly the antidote for anybody with a handle of whiskey and a pool cue. When it comes to garage rock that rivals the Troggs, the McCoys, the Monks and the other fallen heroes of that time, Shark? makes a pretty amazing case with a song like “I’m An Animal.” (via Shark? «  FIVE TUNES)

Feet Above Water - a Head Underwater Mixtape
It has been 10 months since I released a series of mixtapes Arlington, Topeka, and Piedmont. Since then there have been some just flat out great mixtapes to come across my dashboard, and some questions from people asking me, after I give them their props on their mixtapes, when I was going to release one. So finally I sat down and made one. I call it Feet Above Water:

Bibio - Lovers’ Carvings
Le Loup - Beach Town
Fool’s Gold - Surprise Hotel
Washed Out - Belong
Wild Nothing - Cloudbusting
The Radio Dept. - David
El Perro Del Mar - Change of Heart
Midlake - Roscoe
Princeton - Calypso Gold
Cloud Control - Gold Canary
Real Estate - Fake Blues
The Sweet Serenades - On My Way
Emanuel and The Fear - The Rain Becomes The Clouds
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home
Kurt Vile - He’s Alright
Jason Boesel - Hand of God
The Nurses - Apple’s Acre

The photo for the cover art was taken by sumlom.tumblr.com who submitted to my earlier request for photos. Also don’t forget to support all of these artist whether it’s buying merch, their albums or going to their live shows!

Grizzly Bear -“Cheerleader” (Neon Indian’s Studio 6669 Remix)

perpetua:

My review of this rather excellent remix is up on Pitchfork today. I’m very impressed by how naturally my favorite Grizzly Bear song fits into a synth pop arrangement.
