Nov. 17: The New York five-piece pop-rock band MiniBoone continues its residency at this Lower East Side hot spot, playing charming melodic rock that recalls the jangly enthusiasm of the Violent Femmes. Pretty & Nice, from Boston, offers just as many hooks and melodies as the headliner, with the addition of a slightly discordant electric guitar. New York City’s Jack Dishel (the guitarist from the Moldy Peaches) is a highlight of this bill, and his band Only Son delivers crisp pop with emotional depth. The Boston acoustic rock band Slowdim opens the evening with a folkier sound.
